If a student festival was run by grown-ups, it would likely be similar to the event MOVE! which took place at PS1 this past weekend.

The MOVE! was organized by V Magazine’s Cecilia Dean and style journalist David Colman. The production implemented extraordinary collaborations involving fashion and art.

The PS 1 location was in fact a school which has been refurbished into a museum. Attendees were able to observe the exhibits by going around to each “class rooms”, where are now being used as exhibition galleries.

The “Carrie” exhibit by artist Olaf Breuning and fashion designer Cynthia Rowley, involved paint being dropped on heads of models wearing fabrics, creating paints on clothing. It was a bold presentation.

The “Cheryl” room by American Apparel, offered full hair make-up and nail services to those in attendance. As this took place on Halloween day, it accentuated the costumes of those who had already dress up for the holiday. Some of these people drank fake bloods, and it was a best part at this show!

The room where the runway was installed, visitors pretending to be models enjoyed walking on the catwalk.  Next door to this, was a huge projector that displayed those in attendance walking the runway. It was a unique idea employing latest technology.

Both the organizers and visitors enjoyed the experience respectively, and the MOVE! was a very exciting event!

もし大人たちが文化祭をしたらまさにこういう感じ、それが先週末にPS1で行われたイベント、MOVE!だ。

MOVE!は、VマガジンのCecilia Dean とスタイルジャーナリストのDavid Colmanによって開催されたファッションとアートのイベントで、普段めったに見る事のできない贅沢なコラボレーションを実現している。

PS1は学校を改装したミュージアムで、各「教室」ごとにインストレーションされている展示を見て回る様になっているのが特徴。

アーティストOlaf Breuning と ファッションデザイナーCynthia Rowleyによる”Carrie”では、布地を着用したモデルの頭上から大量のペンキを落とし、そのペンキが洋服のプリントになるという大胆なプレゼンテーションを行っていた。

アメリカンアパレルによる”Cheryl”では、フル・ヘアメークアップとネイルのサービスを提供していた。この日はハローウィンということもあり、ファッションというよりほぼ仮装に近い人たちがフェイク・ブロッドを飲むシーンは圧巻！

ランウェーが設置された部屋では、来場者たちがモデルのふりをしてキャットウォークでウォーキングを楽しむ。その横の部屋にある大きなスクリーンにて、ファッションショーで自分の歩いている姿が見られるという最新の技術を使ったユニークなアイディアも取り入れられていた。

来場者も主催者も思い思いに楽しむMove!は、超エキサイティングなイベントでした！
