Mastermind Japan was the perfect final show of Japan’s Fashion week. The venue was warmed up before the start with an important surprise; which would be news that would be announced at the conclusion of this show. Foreign media from China, Brazil, US, etc. also attended for the super famous Japanese fashion brand.

First, a collaborative based collection with A BATHING APE was introduced. T-shirts with iconic monkeys of an Ape being comically designed in skull iconic style of Mastermind presented with the dream work of two big street brands.

At the next show of Mastermind Japan, an iconic skull motif is used on various styles, such as paisley, plaid and laces. Avant-garde taste is precisely added to the street style. Among all collections, a coordination of Pink tiered skirt with maxi length and the black leather jacket was a look with a perfect combination of cool and femininity.

Mastermind’s show was devoted to the Japanese earth quake victims. As the show started with a fight song by the young Japanese pop group , ASIA ENGINEER. “What we do and we can do through fashion”; set and filled the collection with the tone.

日本ファッションウィークのラストを飾った、Mastermind Japan。 このショーのラストで重大な発表があるという事で、会場も開始前からヒートアップしている様子。また、日本を代表するブランドのショーだけに、中国やブラジル、アメリカなどといった海外のメディアが集結していた。

まずは、A BATHING APEとコラボのラインが紹介された。Mastermindのスカルに、APEの猿がコミカルに描かれたTシャツは、 2大ストリートブランドの夢の競演を見事に物語っている。

続いて、Mastermind Japanのショーでは、アイコニックのスカルモチーフが、ペイズリー柄や、タータンチェック、レースなど、様々なスタイルで登場。ストリートの装いを意識しつつも、アバンギャルドな要素を絶妙に取り入れる。中でも、ピンクのマキシ丈ティアードスカートと黒のレザーのスタイリングはハード×フェミニンを見事に融合したルックスだ。
また、プレッピーのスタイルも新鮮だった。

今回のMastermindのショーは、震災で被害にあった人々に捧げられるもので、ショーは、エイジアエンジニアによる被災者への応援歌で始まった。洋服を通じて伝えること、できること、そんな気持ちが率直に伝わってくるコレクションだった。
