1966年に製作された映画「The group 」は、1930年代のラグジュアリーで魅力的なファッションセンスに溢れている。時代は1933年からヨーロッパ第二次世界大戦が始まる1939年、上流階級出身の私立女子校に通う同級生8人が卒業後社会に飛び立ちそれぞれの人生を歩んでいくというストーリーを描く。 1929年に世界大恐慌が始まると人々はより保守的になり、1930年のスタイルはより一層フェミニンな装いとなる。主人公の女性達は上品で洗練された装いが中心で、時代が変わった今でもぜひ真似したいアンサンブル、ヘアー＆メイクアップが数々と登場する。およそ80年も前であるにも関わらず、不思議と古めかしさを一切感じさせない。マニッシュ、カジュアル、モード、様々な様式のファッションスタイルが存在するが、時代を超越したこの時代の上品で優雅な「クラッシー」スタイルは女性としての魅力を最大限に引き出してくれる、極めてエイジレスなスタイルだ。
